WHO documents human-to-human Bird Flu infection

Avian Flu is seen as one of the greatest health risks facing us today. Aside from the likely possibility of the world's livestock becoming infected and by proxy infecting thousands with the often fatal disease, a mutation in the virus that allowed human to human transmission could potentially spark the worst pandemic in our lifetime.

Although reports are a bit scattered and the WHO has yet to directly confirm and endorse the quote below, it apparently comes from a WHO doctor involved with the case.

The mutated virus was detected in samples taken from the last two victims in the cluster -- a son who transmitted it to his father -- providing the clearest proof yet of human-to-human transmission, Cheng said.
