Hi Eric

Thanks for your wonderful work. I used the "Chibi Ninja" as the main soundtrack of a 8-bit game http://www.mochimedia.com/games/play/slimer

Of course you are mentioned and linked back in the credits.

Hi Matt,
I use nanoloop on the Gameboy. It's an amazing homebrew cartridge and worth every penny. I know others who make more dance-style music use LSDJ.

As for the copyright, that's where CC is awesome. You're not giving free license to use your work however, you're licensing under a very specific contract. In my case, that contract stipulates that attribution must be given if you use my work. The cc-by-sa license states that all derivative works must be released under the same open licence. Adding the "non-commercial" clause means people can't charge for your work.

There's nothing to stop people from stealing your work, but you can pursue legal action just like you would a classic "all rights reserved" copyright.

Personally, I'm doing it for the fun of making music and getting it out there, so if someone made a hit song using one of my tracks, I'd be trading highfives all around :) As it is, many commercial games have used my tunes, and I love it!

I want to do a similar type thing... two questions, 1: What program do you use? 2: What is to prevent someone from redistributing remixes etc and charging for it? I worry about using CC and then having someone sing over it and them selling it for money? Whats to stop them as long as they put my name? :-/

Not sure if you got my message on soundcloud, so I'll post here too. I've used "We're the Resistors" for my game Plutoids, which should be releasing on the Ubuntu Software Center and Desura some time in the coming month.

Hi Eric,

I don't know how to contact you so I'll just leave a comment here. I wanted to let you know that we have used your music for 'Voxeliens' (a retro game we've just released) and it's perfect!

You can read about the game here: http://www.volumesoffun.com/voxeliens/

If you'd like a free copy of the game then just drop me an email and I'll send it to you.

Regards,

David

Hi Eric, congrats for your work! It's so amazing!
Why don't you publish it on Jamendo website? So other people can find it easily and appreciate your work :)

So I needed some sort of music for this project for one of my classes - we were told to make a video game. I cannot tell how useful this music has bee for my text adventure, and aside from that I will be listening to it whenever I miss my NES. You will also be mentioned in the credits. Thank you so much for the free music! Great work!
